Spending all night walking around a park may not seem very exciting, but to many it was. The annual American Cancer Society event on Davis Islands raised near $50,000 as teams began walking from around 6 pm on Friday until 8:30 am on Saturday. The event featured twister games, gummy worm eating contests, karaoke, and lots more as the volunteer fundraisers walked all night. The third best part of the event was the location – Davis Islands’ Sea Plane Basin Park with a view of the basin and Tampa Bay, the second best part was the spirit of the volunteers and organizers, but the best was the dedication and commitment of the cancer survivors that brought forth a clear message of hope and promise in the battle to stop cancer. Jennifer Pavluk organized the event along with many corporate and individual sponsors and volunteers. Great Job everyone .
