The final Art After Dark to be held at the current Downtown building drew a very large crowd. D’Visitors played on the front patio as the museum featured a large collection of works by local artists. Most attendees seemed very pleased to see the tired and boring ceramics gone and replaced with creative works by local artists. With a feeling almost like the Viet Nam War Memorial, a display by the Homeless Coalition emphasizing the types of people that are living a homeless life in Hillsborough County created a lot of emotion. The event featured a continually running video of various community leaders offering a toast to the new museum. Plans call for the demolishment of the current building to occur in February. The Tampa Museum of Art will be located in the Centro Espanol Building in Old West Tampa on North Howard Avenue.
