With basketball fans from everywhere arriving in Tampa for the NCAA Women’s Final Four, we became a real sports mecca for a few days. The championship games were the main event, but the interactive HOOP CITY at the Tampa Convention Center really got some attention. This sports interactive event was a lot more that basketball. Soccer, softball, volleyball and more were not just watched, but everyone was invited to participate and most did. There were plenty of basketball half courts and even a full court. While there was plenty of space to play, there was even more fun to be had. Participants even had the opportunity to play the role of half time commentators with monitors reflecting half time scores and more. This big league event exceeded its claims of real fun for anyone. Even Tampa Mayor Iorio got in the act. We wish HOOP City and the NCAA Women’s Final Four came to Tampa every year. See Mayor Pam on the Basketball courts at timeouttampa.com
